This Week...
… I have been mostly addicted to Harpers Island!!
Its so good, who’s going to die next??! Only on episode 8 I think in the uk, so I’ve been trying my best not to go to an American website and watch it all. Almost did that on the CW site for Supernatural, but I didn’t see the last 4 episodes of season 4 so I have to wait til November when the DVD comes out!

Finally catching up on work!
Homework complete...well almost!
So after a long day yesterday doing my sewing homework, I am almost finished. My skirt is sewn together and my darts are all lovely and neat, all that is left is to take out the tacking!
The skirt is huuuuuuge as you can see from the pics! It’ll eventually be gathered together. Ooooh I need to find a pink elastic belt!

Anyway, so I had my 2nd class on Tuesday and all went well until I realised that instead of cutting a piece of my pattern mirrored, I cut right down the middle!! grrr I was annoyed, but luckily enought the fabric is only £3 a metre, so I just bought another metre and will cut it again! I also finally decided on the netting. I got black netting as I thought the pink might be a bit...

Today in Class..
Ok so the first day of my dressmaking class went well. I got the pattern traced, then marked onto the fabric and now my homework for next Tuesday is to cut out my pattern, add my seam allowance and tack along the pattern lines!
My trick of the day is to use soap to outline your pattern as it worked better than my tailors chalk! I love the studio we’re in, its such a nice space. Would love...

About 3 weeks ago I did a corset making class with Anna Antzack. It was great fun and made me want to learn more.
So tomorrow I start my dressmaking class. My first project is a retro tea/swing dress. For the fabric i chose black cotton with cerise pink polka dots for a 50’s look. It will be lined with cerise pink cotton and will have black (or pink) netting for the underskirt.
